Quarterback Mark Sanchez and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles made quick and easy work of the Carolina Panthers on National Football League (NFL) Monday Night Football to remain perfect at home in the regular season. The Panthers dropped their sixth game in nine outings and a postseason appearance is looking bleak if they continue their slide. Carolina is winless in the last five outings and has suffered their fourth consecutive loss.

Philadelphia improved to 7-2 overall and currently holds the top spot in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys are a half game back off the Eagles, which earned back-to-back wins for the third time in the regular season. The Eagles beat the Houston Texans, 31-21 in Week 9 and will face the Green Bay Packers (6-3) in their next outing.

The Eagles had a 17-7 lead after the opening quarter then made it 31-7 by halftime. It was all over at that point as Sanchez eventually finished with 332 passing yards on 20-of-37 passes. His counterpart, Cam Newton had a bad outing throwing three interceptions, had a fumble and was sacked nine times for a 91-yard loss. Carolina tight end Greg Olsen had 119 yards on 6 catches.

Newton and the Panthers early turnovers did them in on this MNF match-up. DeAngelo Williams fumbled and Newton was intercepted and the pair of errors set-up scores for Philadelphia, which had zero turnovers in the game to Carolina’s 5 TO evening.

Darren Sproles was credited with two touchdowns, one each on ground and air, and finished with just 21 total yards. Jordan Matthews had 138 yards on 7 receptions both as career-highs while Brent Celek had 116 yards on 5 catches.

Philadelphia will aim for a three-game win streak in the marquee match-up against Green Bay while the Panthers will try to stay alive in this regular season when they face the Atlanta Falcons at home in Week 11.
