“Person of Interest” fans will be delighted to know that even though Michael Emerson, who stars as the genius Harold Finch, shared that there will be no more episodes on CBS after Season 5, the sixth season will be shown in other major networks.

Comic Book Resources revealed that Season 5 of “Person of Interest” may be the last to air on CBS, but other major networks are reportedly interested in ordering the show's next season. However, Emerson is not certain which network will ultimately have the rights to the series because production is reportedly expensive.

Meanwhile, the show was nominated for “Favorite TV Crime Drama” at People’s Choice Awards 2016. Other nominees include “Bones” and “Criminal Minds.”

In regard to the events in Season 5, according to TV Line, Sarah Shahi teased that her character, Sameen Shaw, will reappear. Fans will discover what happened to her during her long absence of almost a year.

“We will learn what happened to Shaw over the last 9, 10 months, however long she's been missing. Everything that's going on in that episode (featuring her return), these are the reasons why I said yes to this show. It's everything that I wanted to play in this character, all the places I wanted to go to as an actress but never had the opportunity, and they wrote it for me," Shahi teased.

TV Line also noted that it is possible that The Machine will go through a huge ethical transformation in the next season.

During the 100th episode celebration of the show, actress Amy Acker, who plays Root, revealed that her character will continue persuading Finch to make more essential adjustments as he rebuilds The Machine. Their relationship is expected to undergo huge changes as well. Acker said that Root is still The Machine’s top champion, so she will attempt to convince Finch to make the needed modifications. Finch will initially have some doubts about Root’s suggestions because the risks will be higher, and the genius also has to consider the ethical issues governing his plans.

“Person of Interest” Season 5 is set to launch in the mid-season of 2016 on CBS exclusively. There is no official release date at the moment. More updates and details on the sci-fi drama by Jonathan Nolan are expected soon.
