In Season 5 Episode 9 of “Person of Interest,” a secretive criminal boss known as “The Voice” will resurface and cause trouble on the team, particularly Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman).

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Person of Interest” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

In the previous episode, titled “Reassortment,” Reese and Finch (Michael Emerson) were trapped in a hospital that was electronically controlled by Samaritan to start a deadly viral outbreak. The epidemic was supposed to eliminate three targets inside the hospital. The CDC also required all persons to get a vaccine, leading to the Samaritan getting everyone’s DNA. Root (Amy Acker) was able to find a cure to save Fusco and two doctors. Shaw (Sarah Shahi) managed to escape with the aid of Root and The Machine.

The episode synopsis on SpoilerTV states that the mysterious criminal mastermind called “The Voice,” will come back and trap both Reese and Fusco in their own precinct, together with many armed gang members and the new POI. On the other hand, Root will have a surprising discovery.

CarterMatt reveals that the return of the mysterious character will cause a number of consequences to the characters. The episode title, “Sotto Voce,” means “lighter voice” in Italian, and is related to saying something in a soft tone. Not a lot of details about the upcoming episode was revealed, or whether the criminal leader has a past with any of the team members.

The guest cast in the “Person of Interest” episode includes Neal Huff (Terry Easton), RupakGinn (Amir Siddiq), Theodore Feldman (Praveen Patel), Marcus Ho (Officer Shen), Gino Vento (Benavides), Elizabeth Loyacano (Carla Easton), Al Roffe will play a father, John Halas will portray a cop and Jose Joaquin Perez will take on the role of Cowboy Hat.

There are only a few episodes remaining in Season 5, although it only premiered less than a month before. The current season is composed of 13 episodes, after which the entire story will officially end. “Person of Interest” has not been renewed by CBS.
