Lupita Nyong'o has been unstoppable ever since she has won an Oscar for her performance in the slavery inspired movie "12 Years a Slave." The gorgeous actress, who has won a billion hearts with her smile and talent, has now been named the "most beautiful woman" in the world by none other than the most prestigious People Magazine. The 31-year-old Oscar winning beauty has been "flattered" by the honour bestowed upon her and says she is enjoying the phase.

"I'm flattered, but flattered sounds like such a flighty word, you know?" an excited Nyong'o said in an interview with "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie.

"I'm flattered with, like, gravitas under it."

The Mexican born Kenyan beauty has been appreciated not only for her talent but also for her unique sense of fashion and the way she carries herself when she walks the red carpet. Though she is already 30-years-old and arrived on the Hollywood scene quite late, Lupita has soon became the "it" girl of Hollywood and is not counted among the A-list stars of Hollywood.

However the "most beautiful" lady in the world reveals that she never dreamed of achieving this honour and actually suffered an inferiority complex about her dark complexion when she was a teenager.

"What an incredible journey to go from that feeling to being on the cover of this magazine," Nyong'o said in the television interview, according to nydaily.com. "I mean, you could have never told me that that would happen when I was 16 and insecure about my complexion."

Nyong'o has however now gained confidence about herself as a person after arriving in Hollywood and has given a motivational speech at a recent Hollywood luncheon.

"You can't rely on how you look to sustain you. What does sustain us ... what is fundamentally beautiful is compassion for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty enflames the heart and enchants the soul," the beautiful actress said in her speech then.
