Hosted by “Episodes” star Stephen Mangan, the 2015 BAFTA TV Craft Awards celebrates the very best behind-the-scenes talent in British Television. Held at the Brewery in London on Sunday, April 26, Sky Atlantic’s supernatural horror series “Penny Dreadful” and BBC One’s “Sherlock” were the biggest winners for this year’s award show.

Set to premiere its sophomore season in May, “Penny Dreadful” received three BAFTAs in Production Design, Make Up & Hair Design and Original Music. Created by John Logan, the British-American TV show premiered on Showtime on May 11, 2014 and follows various characters from the 19th century Irish and British fiction.

The show features Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) from Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” Mina Harker and Abraham Van Helsing from Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) and his monster (Rory Kinnear) from Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.”

Sherlock bagged two BAFTAs for this year’s ceremony; one for Sound: Fiction and the other for Editing: Fiction, which gives the show nine trophies since its premiere four years ago. A contemporary adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Homes” detective stories, the show stars Daniel Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Dubbed as one of UK’s foremost writers, Sally Wainwright won the award for Best Writer in Drama for her rural police thriller, “Happy Valley.” This is Wainwright’s third BAFTA in two years; her previous victory was from “Last Tango in Halifax” where the show won the Best Series and she won the Best Writer award.

“Game of Thrones” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Mackenzie Crook won his first BAFTA for Best Writer in Comedy for his hit show “Detectorists.” Best known for his TV role in “The Office,” Crook also stars in the British comedy-drama series as Andy in a story set in a fictional town of Danebury in northern Essex.
