Now that evil has a new face, “Penny Dreadful” star Reeve Carney revealed recently that Season 2 is up for more drama and surprises as it deals heavily with the occult. Known for his role as the charming and ageless Dorian Grey, the actor sat down with the Dreadfuls (“Penny Dreadful” fans) as he teased about what to expect in the upcoming season.

When asked by his fans if he's ever seen Dorian Grey’s painting, Carney admitted that most of the time he was staring at the blank canvas. He thinks that his imagination is more terrifying than the actual painting as he gets deeper and deeper into his character.

One fan admitted that her favourite character in the show is Dorian Grey because of her fascination about the theme of immortality. Carney also revealed that part of playing the sexy immortal is to warn his family about his risqué scenes and quipped about warning them by saying that he will be wearing his birthday suit.

While “Penny Dreadful” Season 1 deals with bringing the family together, Season 2 is about beating the evil out of Madam Kali, played by Helen McCrory. Set to be the show’s human antagonist, McCrory, who guest starred in Season 1, is going to take centre stage for “Penny Dreadful” Season 2 with more powers to throw everyone in the supernatural world.

"Her supernatural world becomes the threat to all the gentlemen sitting on the stage with me," series creator John Logan said as he talked about Kali’s power in comparison with Carney’s Dorian Grey, Harry Treadaway’s Dr Frankenstein and Josh Hartnett’s Ethan Chandler. "Next season is very different. Having spent 10 years building this world in my mind, I talk about the first three seasons of what the story is.”

“Penny Dreadful” Season 2 premiere was moved from April 26 to May 3, 2015, Sunday, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. An hour later from its previous schedule, the new season is no longer in direct competition with HBO’s epic fantasy series “Game of Thrones.
