Filming starts this month for "Peaky Blinders" season 4. Reports state that filming for the BBC Two gangster drama beings as early as next week. While a major part of the show is being shot in Liverpool, it has been alleged a part of the show will be filmed in the Midlands.

The much-awaited BBC gangster drama featuring Cillian Murphy is all set to return for a fourth season. The actor and the rest of the cast and crew are due to assemble in Liverpool, March 20 onwards, to resume the 1920s gangster story of the Shelby family.

Per a Birmingham Mail report, filming could be taken to the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley in May. The crew previously used shot scenes at the museum’s canal, rolling mill, stables and blacksmith’s forge to recreate Charlie Strong’s metal yard in the first instalment of the show. The canals also served as the passage for Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) to transport illicit goods.

The report further states that it will take a span of four months for filming of season 4 to complete. This will be followed by editing, which will take another couple of months at the least. As such, fans can expect “Peaky Blinders” season 4 to hit TV screens latest by October.

Series showrunner Steven Knight, also in charge of Tom Hardy’s “Taboo,” said the upcoming series will be “the best yet.” Cillian Murphy meanwhile revealed recently that season 4 will see the family return to their roots.

Spoilers of the fourth season reveal that the upcoming instalment will reveal what became of the Shelby family after they were last seen being dragged off in handcuffs. All of them were charged with murder, robbery and blowing up a train.

In other news, a picture of Tommy’s son Charles to be featured in season 4 has been revealed via a tweet. From the looks of it, the series will pick up two years later from the incidents in season 3. Check the tweet below.

The show has also been calling for young Birmingham-born boxers within the age group of 18-25 for a “pivotal role” in the next instalment of the show. Posters have gone up around the city, which read: “Male boxers aged 18-25 years old from the West Midlands for a pivotal role in the new series which starts filming in the spring. Must be a confident boxer and physically fit.”

“Peaky Blinders” season 4 is expected to return in October. The first three seasons of the show are available for online streaming on Netflix.
