“Vampire Diaries” cast member Paul Wesley has been showing off his acting and directing skills in the CW Network’s supernatural drama series. In an interview, Paul Wesley revealed another thing that he is interested in aside from being an actor and director in TV series and movies.

“I would like to study journalism. I always wanted to be a journalist. I love the idea of researching something and then writing about it,” Wesley shared in the “One Question Interviews” video with host Rick Yaeger. The 32-year-old actor believes that he started to have interest in journalism during his youth after he watched a reporter in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

“There was that reporter. She was just a reporter, but she would go and investigate and she found the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and she was like, ‘Oh my god.’ And maybe that excited me? So I thought: I want to discover and find things and then report on them. That’s kind of like something I always wanted to do,” Wesley recounted.

Meanwhile, a shared image on Instagram has ignited speculations that “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley could have an upcoming project with “Pretty Little Liars” executive producer Marlene King. “Sunday funday brainstorming w these two,” King posted on Sunday, Feb. 22, on her Instagram account imarleneking as a caption to the shared image of herself being sandwiched by Paul Wesley and producer Bob Levy. According to MTV News, “Vampire Diaries” actor Paul Wesley appears to be set on detaching from his teen heartthrob on-screen image. The CW star has been taking on new projects with a role that is completely opposite of his TVD character Stefan Salvatore.

“If I’m going to do something in my off-season, it’s got to be something pretty different than what I do every day,” Wesley shared to Vulture while promoting his latest indie film titled "Amira & Sam." Actor Paul Wesley will return to the small screen as vampire Stefan Salvatore in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 on Thursday night, March 12, with Episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral” airing at 8/7c on the CW Network.
