Patrick Dempsey has accidently opened up about erection on national TV. The 50-year-old actor surprised the hosts of “Today” show by saying some Aussie lingo, which has sexual connotation.

The “Enchanted” actor appeared on Channel Nine’s “Today” show with his co-star Renée Zellweger to promote their new film, “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”

One of the hosts, Lisa Wilkinson, asked the celebrities to attempt to speak with an Aussie accent. Dempsey with great gusto then tried to show off his Australian accent.

“Traveller,” he said, “Traveller’s a beer you travel with right?”

The hosts immediately burst into laughter with Karl Stefanovic unable to control his amusement.

“You’re not supposed to say that,” Today show host and editor Richard Wilkins oriented the Hollywood star. “All the blokes who are watching are sitting upright now.”

The former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor, who was completely oblivious to what the fuss was all, about asked what “traveller” means. Wilkins was then seen leaning over to the star whispering the answer to which the actor immediately said, “Oh, excuse me.”

For those who aren’t aware, “traveller” is an Aussie term used to describe an erection that develops while on public transport.

Dempsey later got over his embarrassment as he promoted his movie with Zellweger, “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”

Aussie fans of Bridget Jones were treated with a celebrity visit as Renee Zellweger and Patrick Dempsey attended the Sydney premiere of the newest installment in the franchise.

“Bridget Jones’s Baby” continues the story of titular character Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger), who is now over 40 and single again. While she has everything under control, focusing on her career as a top news producer, life challenges her again when she discovers she is pregnant. Things get even worse as the mum-to-be is yet to know who the dad is, her ex Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) or new lover Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey).

“Bridget Jones’s Baby” is in cinemas September 15.
