The barbaric Paris terror attacks took the lives of over 150 people and injured scores across the city has been condemned by world leaders across the globe.

Social media, the internet and smartphones have proven themselves to be life savers during terrible events such as this. These services and devices not only help save lives, but also double as terrific tools to create awareness and stop more people from entering a danger zone.

Meanwhile, there are many humanitarian stories and stories about lucky escapes being uncovered and one such incident has the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone as the hero.

As it turns out, a Galaxy S6 Edge saved a man’s life during the Paris terror attacks. This incident apparently took place at Stade de France where a football match was taking place between France and Germany. The stadium had 80,000 hardcore fans enjoying the match. Not to forget, French President Francois Hollande was also part of the huge crowd.

Based on a news report from a French site VG TV picked-up by Phone Arena, a slew of explosions went off outside the stadium. A suicide bomber and a gunman detonated a bomb and started firing.

Meanwhile, a man by the name of Sylvester was reportedly hanging out near the Stade de France. A bomb fragment struck him but instead of being wounded or killed, Sylvester survived thanks to his Samsung Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone that was hit by the fragment, instead. The piece of metal badly damaged the phone but Sylvester is alive to tell the story.

Check out the video of Sylvester showing the Galaxy S6 Edge that saved his life. Note that the video isn’t in English but is, nevertheless, worth a watch.

Of the Paris atrocity, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said “It’s guns and bombs, yes, it does look like a war, but the strength of our states, of our nations, are so much greater than those of the terrorists,” according to Herald Sun.
