Apple is reportedly releasing soon its next iOS update as hinted by the seeing this week of beta iOS 8.1.1, from which jailbreak fans are warned to keep a safe distance.

Basing on a new report by 9to5Mac, a patch for iOS 8.1 will be deployed soon as developers are given a first taste of beta 8.1.1. As expected, the latest dispatch will kill the residue of bugs that 8.1 failed to wipe out plus the usual inclusion of stability.

Needless to say, however, 8.1.1 also serves as Apple's fresh attempt to plug the holes that hackers are exploiting in poking deeper into iOS 8. That exactly is the case, according to iDownloadBlog.com, pointing to an advisory issued by Weibo user Daniel_K4.

It is alleged that the post on the popular Chinese social media site doubles as Pangu's official statement as Daniel_K4 is an active member of the team.

Pangu advisory

Like the Evad3rs before them, Pangu is reminding jailbreak fans that any patch or update from Apple will surely jeopardize their jailbroken iPhones or iPads or worst - lock them out from future jailbreak editions.

"Apple has released iOS 8.1.1 beta to developers. After our tests, it has patched the jailbreak exploit," the Weibo post was quoted by iDownloadBlog.com as saying.

Daniel_K4 also encouraged jailbreakers to dodge the possibility of being shut off from the Pangu JB tool by quickly updating to iOS 8.1 - that is they haven't updated - before the patch becomes official. It is expected that it'll be only matter of few days before iOS 8.1.1 is made public.

Stay safe, stick to latest jailbreak

While Pangu or perhaps even the Evasi0n7 creators - Team Evad3rs - will surely work on a jailbreak update, there is no telling how long for any of the developers will it take to unlock iOS 8.1.1. So the safest thing to do is "stay where you are," iDigitalTimes said on its new report.

"There is no guarantee that another jailbreak will become available after Apple patches Pangu in iOS 8.1.1. If you update, you will lose your jailbreak and cannot return," the online publication added.

On the other hand, Apple fans already happy with the stock iOS builds coming from the iPhone maker, the imminent release of iOS 8.1.1 is a welcome development.

This is especially true for older-generation iDevices as iOS 8.1.1 is said to boost performance and stability of legacy devices such as the iPhone 4S and iPad 4.
