Barely a few days after Apple has made iOS 8.1 public, the much-awaited iOS 8 jailbreak release date became a reality and as expected Team Pangu of China has outraced the Evad3rs in issuing the Evasi0n8 unlocker.

The tool, however, is far from being usable by jailbreak fans as Pangu itself has admitted that the jailbreak is not yet in perfect form and is best reserved for the experts, 9to5Mac said on its reports.

"So basically current Pangu version is for JB developers to port their apps to iOS 8," the Chinese hacking group was quoted by 9to5Mac as saying in a Twitter post.

The Asian devs even removed the download link for the software, presumably to fix it, though numerous sites quickly surfaced offering copies and guides to install the jailbreak that apparently works on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and other iDevices capable of running iOS 8.

To be clear, however, Pangu 1.0.1 or iOS 8 jailbreak is not yet for public consumption though some may be brave enough to give it a test drive.

And below are the reasons why delaying with their jailbreak plans for many is the prudent thing to do at the moment:

No English version

As of this writing, the latest tweet from Pangu indicated that Chinese language remains the only supported system language.

Limited to Windows desktop users

Ironically, iPhones and other iOS device users who exclusively using Macs will not be able to try out the iOS 8 jailbreak as Pangu seemingly built the tool on Windows environment and that remains the system supported right now.

The group, however, vows to issue an OS X version at the soonest possible time, which could be in the next few days.

Bugs galore

While iOS 8 is buggy already and so is its jailbreak counterpart. Pangu warned in a tweet that some issues could lead to accidental deletion of photos, which is one of the reasons why the software download link was pulled down.

Cydia is missing

Cydia, which is one of the more important jailbreak components because it serves as the library for jailbreak tweaks, is not yet bundled with Pangu's JB creation. The group explained that Cydia will be available shortly or as soon as its creator, Saurik, makes it compatible with iOS 8.

Saurik, according to 9to5Mac, has already issued an updated Cydia in .deb file, which means that jailbreakers will need to manually install the JB companion tool in order to enjoy.

Now that could prove too taxing for the majority of jailbreak fans so the next best thing to do is to simply wait for the release date of a more stable and fully-working iOS 8 jailbreak.
