Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson recently talked about her cover shoot in the final nude issue of Playboy magazine.

The 48-year-old model turned actress reveals that she was approached by Playboy representatives to grace the cover of the January and February 2016 issue of the magazine.

"I got a call from [Hugh Hefner's] attorney who said, 'We don't want anybody else. There's nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?” she tells Entertainment Tonight.

In the interview, she revealed that she consulted her sons before she decided to do it. She also opened up about the influence of the internet that made Playboy pull the plug on the nude content of its publication. "I thought that's probably a good thing," she said and explained that it is hard to compete with the internet nowadays. She is of the opinion that the “girl next door doesn’t exist anymore.” She elaborated, “She's taking selfies down her shirt, like, you know, there's no mystery over there anymore. It doesn't have that same charm and innocence that it used to."

Reminiscing about the long history of the magazine, Anderson admitted that she misses her "Playboy days" that includes the glamour, chivalry, activism and art that set Playboy on the map for its role in sexual revolution.

Anderson is quite fond of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner as she talked about the mutual respect between the both of them. "He's such a sweetheart and he's just been such a big part of my life."

She said that there had been a few times when she was asked if she would pose for the magazine again, to which she replied, "They're never going to ask... I mean I'm sure they're sick of me."

Under direction of famed photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, Anderson made sure that she definitely made the most out of the shoot. "I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can," she said then added, "I was just screaming, and hair and bo--s were flying, and shoes were going everywhere."

The cover is backed by a full spread 12-page pictorial on the inside and an interview of Anderson with James Franco.

Independent reports that the magazine’s circulation dropped from 5.6 million to around 800,000 in recent years.

Anderson first graced the Playboy magazine cover back in 1989. The last and latest issue will be Anderson’s 14th appearance, making her the record holder for most appearances on the cover of Playboy magazine.
