Currently in productions for his biker drama series "Sons of Anarchy," Charlie Hunnam revealed "Pacific Rim" sequel is not yet a done deal. Director Guillermo del Toro announced last month he is working on the script and will be reuniting with Hunnam as he reprises his role as a Jaeger pilot Raleigh Becket.

Before filming "SOA's" last season, the British actor collaborated with del Toro in his upcoming thriller film "Crimson Peak" with Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska. He admitted reading the script and is excited to go back filming for the movie, but the cast and crew are still waiting for the greenlight to make it happen.

"We got a release date, got a script ordered but it's Hollywood. You never know until you're on set, but they seem very, very enthusiastic and excited about it. I've talked a little bit with Guillermo about the story he wants to tell and it's pretty b-----," Hunnam told Nuke The Fridge.

Following the announcement of the movie's sequel, the "Hellboy" director also revealed he will start working on the design production and even start looking for film locations. Although he didn't say much about the monster film's plot, the 49-year-old filmmaker aims to begin filming in November this year.

Based on Buzzfeed's report, Legendary Pictures has not not given the director the thumbs up sign, but he will continue working on the script with Zak Penn. Even without the budget for the sequel, the Mexican director will still proceed with the script that will feature the original characters of the movie, including Rinko Kikuchi (Mako Mori).

"Pacific Rim 2" will follow the stories of pilots who are training with Jaegers, including the new cadets who are learning to become pilots. Expanding the world where "Pacific Rim" takes place, del Toro is giving fans more insight into the character's background and plans to shoot the film in different locations.

"Pacific Rim" made headlines internationally with a whopping $309. 2 million sales, including $119.9 million in China alone. "Pacific Rim 2" will premiere in theatres on April 7, 2017, according to Screen Rant.
