The news that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson would be playing Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie came out on the Labour Day and led thousands of fans and critics to Change.org, as producer Dana Brunetti took to Twitter to address the repercussion.

Fans of the popular EL James novel had their own ideas about who should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson had been cast in Focus Features' adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey was not acclaimed across the world by fans of the popular EL James novel, fans of the popular EL James novel.

As we would expect, fans took to Twitter to express their discontent and disappointment about the cast. Not only they expressed their discontent on social media but some of the fans created a petition to have Hunnam and Johnson replaced with Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel.

Overwhelming response on the petition on Change.org and had 15,000 signatures as of Wednesday morning.

So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING."

Fans of popular stories are often swarming to social media as a tool to express what they feel should be done after they get disappointed with the casting choices for movie adaptations.

One of the movie's producers, Dana Brunetti, responded to the criticism, tweeting

"there is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc."

"So if your favourite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective," Dana Brunetti added.

Brunetti retweeted some of the opinionated responses he received -- including one that called him "an idiot" for the castings, another that said he would have cast a "monkey" for Grey and one that said, "I hate you. #NoMattNoAlexisNoMovie."

Brunetti retweeted to one fan who compared the casting announcement to the uproar over casting of Ben Affleck as Batman.

"@DanaBrunetti knows how @BenAffleck feels today," the tweet said.

It was Author of Fifty Shades Trilogy James' Monday declaration that started the uproar. As it raged, James made one further comment on twitter as James tweeted

"To all the supporters, lovers and haters -- thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project," James tweeted. "You all rock. All of you."
