The plot of “Outlander” season 4 is based on Diana Gabaldon's book “Drums of Autumn.” Those who have read the book will know there’s another big reunion coming up, and Sam Heughan (Jamie) has confirmed that he is back in Scotland this week to film this scene. The following article contains spoilers.

Speaking at a recent event, Heughan said that he already got the script for Jamie and Brianna’s (Sophie Skelton) meeting, Variety reports. The actor will be filming the scene this week.

“This season, it’s a huge moment and will be the catalyst to a lot of the drama that unfolds,” Heughan said about the reunion.

While Jamie may be happy about meeting his daughter for the first time, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) may not be particularly pleased with Brianna’s decision to travel back in time. The Frasers will be facing turbulent times in their new home, and this is not an ideal place to be in.

Co-executive Producer Maril Davis said that Claire would rather want her daughter to stay in a time period where she is relatively safe.

Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, on the other hand, pointed out that the time where the Frasers find themselves next season is the era of American Indians and slavery. There’s also a rebellion brewing in New England, which will eventually lead to the American Revolution. Jamie and Claire are “smack dab in the middle of all this,” the producer teased.

While the story has moved to the American colonies, fans will still see some familiar faces in “Outlander” season 4. Laoghaire (Nell Rose Hudson) will be back this year, and Moore teased the return of Frank (Tobias Menzies). While Laoghaire is still alive and well on the show, the only way Frank can return is by being a ghost or a memory in a flashback sequence.
