A new trailer of “Outlander” season 4 has been released online. The video shows the two new and important characters Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers).

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will begin their new lives in the American colonies, but they will have to face new kinds of dangers and meet dangerous people. The trailer [see below] shows the wilderness of North Carolina, where the Frasers will make a new home. Filming of most of these scenes were done in Scotland.

A major new character on the show this time around is Jamie’s aunt. Aunt Jocasta has an estate in River Run. She is accompanied by her butler Ulysses (Colin McFarlane). Jamie too will finally get to live his dream of being a laird of his own estate. However, while the Frasers enjoy their new home and the banquets that they get invited to, there’s a revolution brewing.

The Frasers will also get to meet Stephen Bonnet. The character has some devilish charm, but readers should note that he is a smuggler and pirate who will create quite a few problems on the show. Stephen Bonnet is the big baddie on the show in season 4.

There are thieves and outlaws, revolutionaries, and native tribes that the Frasers will encounter. There is also the ever present British Empire and the Red coats, who will hang someone that Jamie knows.

On the time-travelling front, Claire will discover another traveller from the future. A skull she finds in the woods will have silver fillings in the teeth, something that will not be invented for another 100 years from the timeline that the Frasers are in currently.

Claire will also get to witness another song and dance of the druids in America. It remains to be seen who will be travelling through time this year.
