A new behind-the-scenes picture from the production set of “Outlander” season 4 has been released online. The picture shows Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) filming what could be the very first scene of them in the American colonies.

The previous season ended with Jamie and Claire being washed ashore, and they found themselves in the American colony of Georgia. The very first teaser of season 4 showed the Frasers spending some quality time together, with Claire explaining to her husband about the future of the land they are currently living in and about the American Dream.

A new behind-the-scenes picture that has been released online [see below] shows the filming of this scene of Jamie and Claire. The two can be seen snuggled together in a warm blanket.

One of the crew members can be seen explaining the scene to the two actors. This may be one of the very first scenes that was filmed for the new season.

The time of Jamie and Claire’s arrival is at a critical juncture in American history. The Revolution is about to begin, and the Frasers will be dragged into it, just as they were dragged into the politics of Scotland.

The politics of the land will take some time to unfold. Meanwhile, the first priority for the Frasers will be to find a way to build a home and make some money. Jamie will finally get to build an estate that he can call home, and be the laird there with his family.

Filming of “Outlander” season 4 has already been completed. The show is currently in the post production phase of development. It is expected to premiere in November. Meanwhile, the writers are busy breaking down the story and writing the script for season 5, but it will be a few months before the filming starts again.
