“Outlander” season 3 premiere is still many months away, but the fans have already seen glimpses of the show in the form of both official and leaked pictures. Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and the producers have also been sharing behind-the-scenes videos and pictures from the sets. A big question now is when the first full trailer will be released.

If the previous two seasons are any indication, the trailer will be released just a few months before the premiere. A very good opportunity to unveil the first full trailer is during the Comic Con event in San Diego. A team for the show will be attending the event, Starz has announced.

The production of the new season is set to wrap in June, after 10 long months of grueling filming schedule that has seen the cast and crew travel to different locations in Scotland for both interior and exterior shots. The team is currently working in South Africa.

The show is set to premiere in September. Since the San Diego Comic Con will be held between July 19 and 23, it is the perfect time to unveil the first “Outlander” season 3 full trailer, as it would give the team enough time to put something good together.

The fans could see a teaser long before the full trailer is released. However, since the first few episodes of the TV series this time around will show the separate storylines of Jamie and Claire, putting together just that portion of the show without a tease of the Caribbean may leave the fans wanting.

The team had to skip the San Diego Comic Con last year due to their busy schedule. So this year they will have to be there with a bang. Perhaps the best way to do that is with a really good trailer to get the fans excited.

The 2015 San Diego Comic Con was attended by executive producer Ronald D Moore, co-executive producer Maril Davis, and cast members Heughan and Balfe. During the panel discussion the team teased details about the second season, which had taken the main characters to France. There was also a gag-reel shown to the audience at that event.

Moore had said in 2015 that the second season feels like a whole new show. Things are not very different this year. Each new season of the show appears to be a whole new adventure for Jamie and Claire, and it has been an emotional rollercoaster ride for the fans so far. “Outlander” season 3 is promising to be just as exciting, with new characters and new locations.
