Cast member Sam Heughan teased some details about “Outlander” Season 3 in a recent interview. The show is expected to feature the Battle of Culloden, and the actor said that the action sequences look “spectacular.”

[Spoiler alert]

Filming of the first two episodes is almost complete, Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore said recently. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Heughan (Jamie) confirmed that they are done filming the two episodes.

Heughan said that the new season feels “strong” and it feels like he has already filmed “some exciting stuff.” The actor said that he was trying to be careful about the spoilers, and didn’t want to give anything away so soon. He pointed out that in the past season, there was a lot of talk about Culloden, and this time the viewers are actually going to see the scenes of battle. The actor teased that the battle looks “spectacular.”

Jamie was last seen racing to join his fellow Highlanders in what he knew was a lost cause. Heughan teased that there is some “exciting” storyline for his character in “Outlander” Season 3. He said that the character will have to “go through a lot” before his reunion with Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

Heughan said that being reunited with his true love is the most exciting thing for him in the new season. The actor pointed out that the show this time is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager,” so the main characters will be traveling to Jamaica and also to the US, which the actor said would be “fun.”

There is a particular scene from the books that Heughan is excited to film, but he isn’t telling which scene it is yet. With different timelines being featured in “Outlander” Season 3, Jamie is expected to be seen as on older man this time around.
