The temperature in South Africa went up just a little recently because the cast sat for a script read through for ‘Outlander” season 3, Co-executive Producer Matthew B. Roberts joked. The next two episodes will be the “most complicated” to film, which has kept the crew members very busy.

It is a “verra exciting” time for the team of the Starz show at the moment. The cast members have already received the scripts for the next few episodes, and they sat for a read through session recently. This is a process where the actors are made to sit in a room and read their lines out loud.

Roberts also revealed that the producers and the crew members have been “horribly busy” these past few weeks. They have been hard at work for what has been described as the show’s most “epic” episodes so far. Given the nature of the work involved, they are also the most “complicated.”

What are these “verra exciting” scenes that are being filmed for “Outlander” season 3? Fans who have read Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager” may have an idea. The plot this time around is based on the third book in the series. At least one cast member has expressed his excitement after reading the script. The fact that this new cast member is a part of the filming in South Africa gives an interesting clue about the show. The following article contains minor spoilers.

Actor Ryan Ralph Gerrard is a new cast member. He described the script as “beautifully written,” and added that that it was so good that he felt compelled to play the role. He has been cast to play the role of Tom from clan Fraser or McKenzie.

Gerrard has been filming for a while now. Since he is playing one of the Highlanders, it is possible his character fought in the Battle of Culloden, and later joined Jamie (Sam Heughan) in Ardsmuir Prison. [Correction: This article previously suggested that Gerrard is a part of the team heading to South Africa. The actor has clarified that he finished filming last year]

Jamie will not be travelling with just Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to the Caribbean in “Outlander” season 3. There could be an interesting set of characters travelling with them to Jamaica. More details about the show will be revealed when the filming actually begins. The crew has been busy building the sets for some time, and now the cameras will finally begin to roll.
