The Chinese character Yi Tien Cho, nicknamed Mr Willoughby, may have been cast for “Outlander” season 3, and already filming his scenes. An actor was reportedly spotted on the set playing this new role. The producers of the show, however, are yet to make a formal announcement to confirm the news.

According to a report by OutlanderBTS, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny” actor Gary Young was spotted on the set in Edinburgh, where filming for the show has been taking place. The actor is also a cast member in “Secret City” and “The Shannara Chronicles” TV shows.

Yi Tien Cho is a character the fans will encounter in Edinburg. The character is a Chinese scholar who used to work for the Imperial Chinese government, but is now living in exile. In the book “Voyager,” on which “Outlander” season 3 is based, the Chinese character was nearly starving to death when Jamie (Sam Heughan) found him and saved him.

Author Diana Gabaldon has already confirmed the presence of Mr Willoughby, after one fan wondered about the character since it has been so long and there hasn’t been any casting announcement about the character. The cast and crew recently filmed the Print Shop scene, so the announcement may be made very soon.

Meanwhile, the fan group of cast member Sophie Skelton (Brianna) helped her reach a new milestone on Twitter. Over the weekend the fans made sure the actress gets over 31,000 followers on her Twitter page.

Fellow cast member Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield) has over 41,000 followers on Twitter. The actor is using his fame to support social causes, and is currently promoting an art raffle for the Anno’s Africa charity organisation.

“Outlander” season 3 is set to premiere sometime this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. The show is available on Foxtel in Australia.
