Scenes on a ship are being filmed right now for “Outlander” season 3. However, the set that has been built for this purpose is not for everyone, Co-executive Producer Maril Davis found out the hard way. Meanwhile, Sam Heughan shared a behind the scenes picture from a postproduction meeting that was also attended by fellow cast member Caitriona Balfe.

Davis got on the ship set in South Africa recently and somebody started to rock the boat, making her feel nauseated. The ship set is supported by a gimbal, to allow the crew members to simulate the wave action of the ocean for the filming.

Commenting on her Twitter post, some of the fans offered helpful advice about medication, while others asked if she is interested in some acupuncture. One of the fans also posted a scene from the popular Starz TV series, in which Jamie (Sam Heughan) offers to get a bucket for the seasick Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

Some of the fans suspected Heughan could be behind this prank to poke fun at Davis. Despite the challenge the producer faced, it looks like the filming of “Outlander” season 3 began smoothly for the cast and crew, with some fun and games to boot.

Heughan shared a behind the scenes picture recently, and emphasized the fact that he is not happy that they are no longer in Cumbernauld, Scotland anymore. The picture appears to have been taken by Balfe.

The cast members appear to now be filming the scenes onboard the ship Artemis, on which Jamie and Claire travel to the West Indies. More details about the production will be available in the coming weeks.

The plot of the new season is based on the third book in the series by Diana Gabaldon titled “Voyager.” Producer/Writer Matthew B. Roberts has also been reading the next book “Drums of Autumn,” but it isn’t clear if any of the scenes or characters from the book will be featured on the show this year. The production team will begin work for season 4 immediately after wrapping the current filming in South Africa wraps, so there will be no break between seasons for them this year.

“Outlander” season 3 is set to air in September. Each season takes about 10 months to film, and then it goes into the post production phase. This makes it a challenge for the team to bring the show back on air quickly for the eager fans.
