Starz has posted a new GIF that shows a scene from “Outlander” season 3. Fans may remember the scene from a previously released trailer of the popular TV series. The main focus of the GIF is Claire (Caitriona Balfe) with her family in the US.

With all the anticipation for Claire and Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) reunion, fans should not forget that the start of the new season will focus on pain. While Jamie survives the Battle of Culloden, the thought of living without the love of his life is unbearable to him.

Similarly, Claire goes through the challenge of living without Jamie. However, she has a responsibility to her family, and as a mother, she can’t ignore her daughter.

The new GIF from Starz captures one of those rare tender moments where Claire’s family celebrates together. It is Brianna’s (Sophie Skelton) birthday. Instead of a big party with friends, the celebration seems to be restricted to family members.

The scene is from a flashback sequence in the US, and Brianna hasn’t met Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) yet. The flashback scenes will show how Brianna grows up over the years, her mother haunted by memories of Jamie.

“With Brianna, Claire will always have a piece of Jamie,” the Starz post reads. While this may be true, it should be noted that there was a disconnect between mother and daughter, which Brianna pointed out in the previous season. This may be due to the fact that Claire misses Jamie terribly and can’t talk to her daughter about it.

Frank made Claire promise him that they will hide the fact that Brianna is actually Jamie’s daughter, raising her as their own. This could lead to tension between the couple in “Outlander” season 3.
