The cast and crew of the Starz show are going to have a hectic schedule in South Africa while filming “Outlander” season 3, but Caitriona Balfe is looking forward to the popular restaurants in Cape Town. The actress has also confirmed once again that she is not dating Sam Heughan.

The cast members and some of the producers of the show have already reached South Africa, and filming has begun. Balfe (Claire) recently told HuffingtonPost that she is looking forward to “enjoying the incredible restaurants Cape Town is famous for.” The actress also wants to try some of the wines the city has to offer.

When she is not busy filming for the show, Balfe said that she would like to explore South Africa. The actress is already in the country so she may have had a chance to see some of the sights before the filming began.

Cameras have started to roll for “Outlander” season 3. Co-executive producer Maril Davis teased a sentence heard on the set. “Still missing a rat…” she heard someone say on the set. The producer did not elaborate on that sentence but said that this is something that one never wants to hear.

Balfe was also reluctant to share too many details about the filming in South Africa. However, the one question that continues to be asked is whether or not she is dating her fellow cast member Sam Heughan (Jamie). The actress has said repeatedly in the past that the on screen romance has not translated into anything real in her life. The fans have also largely refrained from asking her about her private life.

The dating questions did prompt Balfe to talk about love and romance. The actress is a strong supporter of the idea and she said that humanity would not survive without it.

Balfe also added that the highlands of Scotland are full of romance. The actress said that the landscapes of the country and the weather there “mirrored” the relationship between Jamie and Claire.

The fans will get to see that intense passion again this year when the show returns. However, the fans will have to wait a while to see the romance of Jamie and Claire, as the show begins with the two main characters living their separate lives, before the big reunion scene.

“Outlander” season 3 is set to premiere in September. Starz is yet to announce an exact release date for the show.
