Fans may have been pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of the toilet scene in “Outlander’ Season 2. In a recent interview, cast member Sam Heughan discussed what it was like to film the funny scene. In another interview, Caitriona Balfe talked about her red dress being a “show stopper.”

[Spoiler alert]

In the second episode of Season 2, Jamie (Heughan) gets a chance to see King Louis (Lionel Lingelser) struggle with constipation. While the scene is from Diana Gabaldon’s novel “Dragonfly in Amber,” it did not include him telling the king to have some “parritch” every morning.

Jamie’s suggestion had an impact on the king and he even mentioned it when he meets Jamie in the main hall. So, the addition that was not a part of the book got Jamie closer to the king.

In an interview with Yahoo, Heughan said that filming the toilet scene was “very funny.” Heughan said that the scene was difficult to perform for any actor, and complimented Lingelser for doing it so well. The actor revealed that the day the scene for “Outlander” Season 2 was being filmed reporters from the Hollywood Foreign Press were present on the set, adding to the pressure.

Jamie’s suggestion of taking porridge was not the only thing that the king noticed. He also took a moment to admire Claire’s (Balfe) stunning red dress. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Balfe called the dress a “show stopper.”

The actress revealed that she found it difficult to move around in the dress, but acknowledged the fact that the fans were very excited to see the dress, which was one of the highlights in the book. Balfe said that the moments like the one where her character wears the red dress are exciting for her to show to the fans because they would “cherish” such moments from the book series.

While Claire was flaunting her new dress, she also came to know something terrible. The second episode of “Outlander” Season 2 made a big revelation that Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) is still alive. Jack is expected to learn of Jamie and Claire being in France soon. The revelation adds to the tension the couple face in France in the next episode.
