The first official trailer of “Outlander” Season 2 has been released online. The video shows the main characters in France. The trailer reveals some important moments in the next season.

[Spoiler alert]

Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix), who followed Jamie (Sam Heughan) into France, will finally come to know about Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) secret. A previously released picture of the character sitting on a desk and writing was from a scene in which he confronts Claire about her past.

It was not a letter that Murtagh was writing. He was instead making a list of all the years through which Claire lived in the future, before travelling back in time. Murtagh does not appear shocked by the revelation and has no doubts about Claire’s honesty on the issue.

Murtagh appears to be sympathetic to Claire’s “burden” of knowing what is going to happen. The Scotsman is interested in knowing about the Jacobite Rebellion. Claire reveals to him that the rebellion will not end well and they should try and stop it before it even begins.

Perhaps the biggest moment in “Outlander” Season 2 is when Claire travels back to her own timeline and back to her first husband Frank (Tobias Menzies). Frank is understandable happy and “grateful” for his wife’s return. The trailer, however, does not show Frank’s ancestor Black Jack, also played by Menzies.

Claire, however, may be in a dilemma. She was pregnant with Jamie’s child towards the end of the first season. Jamie had made her promise that no matter what happens they should always find a way to find each other.

The trailer teases a few battle scenes in the next season. It appears that no matter what Claire intends to do; she may not be able to alter history, something that Jamie was concerned about.

“Outlander” Season 2 finally has a premiere date. Episode 1 of the show will air on April 9, the trailer revealed.
