With bagpipers playing in the background and fans cheering, “Outlander” star Sam Heughan received a warm welcome for his interview in Australia. The actor is currently promoting Season 2 of the popular TV series and the fans travelled from as far away as New Zealand to meet him.

Even the anchors of the show at Studio 10 were tongue tied while speaking to Heughan (Jamie). The studio was filled with women who were eager to see the actor in person and one of the male anchors joked how all the female anchors stood in attention when the actor walked in.

Talking about the massive fan following of the show in not only Australia but around the world, Heughan said that it was “quite overwhelming” to see all the fans waiting since 4 am to see him. The actor said that it was “incredible” to see the reach of the TV series.

One of the female anchors sitting next to Heughan found it difficult to speak because her heart was beating very fast. After seeing the actor in the “Outlander” TV series, some of the friends of the anchor had apparently asked her to propose on their behalf.

Talking about Season 2, Heughan teased that there will be a lot of politics and back stabbing. The next season will take Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to Paris, where they attempt to change history and save the Highlander culture. The two characters will return to Scotland in the second half of the season, where there will be “mud and the blood and the rain,” Heughan revealed.

When asked about why Claire gets arrested all the time, Heughan joked that it is fair to say that it is because of her “big mouth.” The actor revealed that Claire will get into trouble again because of her mouth in the premiere episode of “Outlander” Season 2.
