Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe appeared in a video from the set to explain their absence at the ceremony.

With frenzied voting, the fans were able to get the popular Starz show four awards at the People’s Choice Awards. The show won Favorite Premium Sci-Fi/ Fantasy Series, Favorite TV Show, and cast members Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) won the Favorite Sci-Fi/ Fantasy TV Actor and Actress awards respectively.

In a post online, the cast and crew thanked that fans and added that it is time to gather the clan and celebrate the victory. The TV series doesn’t get the attention it deserves, but the fans are in charge in People’s Choice Awards, so the fans never let the show down whenever there is a vote.

Both the actors said that they wished they were at the award ceremony, celebrating with the fans. But, they are currently busy filming the next season. Heughan and Balfe acknowledged how sore the thumbs of the fans must be at the moment, due to the vigorous voting. They asked the fans to get back to their family and work, and promised to do a special Q & A session just to say thank you.

The producers of the show also thanked the fans for their support. The cast and crew are busy finishing the last leg of filming in Scotland, before shifting to South Africa.
