Although “The Originals” will not premiere until next year, fans have already been speculating about the future of Klaus and Marcel. There have also been rumours that there might be a crossover between “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals,” which the fans cannot wait to see.

“The Originals” season 4 begins with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) still held captive by Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis), his son. Hayley Marshall raises Hope in order to save Mikaelson. In the new season, it would not be easy for Klaus to make an escape from the dungeon.

There have been reports that the new season will begin at a fast pace since it begins after a five-year jump, from where season 3 finale called "The Bloody Crown" left. Moreover, Klaus along with his siblings, Rebekah, Freya, Kol, Elijah, will face a very big monster.

As mentioned by TV Guide, the upcoming season might also see a new vampire. The vampire will reportedly have a grudge against Klaus and will do anything to get what he wants. There are chances that the new villain is Vincent, played by Yusuf Gatewood.

The executive producer of the show, Julie Plec, mentioned earlier that Klaus and Marcel’s relationship is complicated yet interesting. “The indignity of Klaus Mikaelson’s situation the last five years (is being) held captive by his surrogate son and forced to be an advisor to a king that he does not recognize,” Julie told Entertainment Weekly. She also said that Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact he’s alive because so many people have come to town in the last five years, desperate to see him reduced to ash.

“The Originals” Season 4 was rumoured to be cancelled after the cancellation of “The Vampire Diaries” following the announcement of season 8. Audiences think that the crossover might actually save the former series, which has been receiving quite low ratings.
