'The Originals' Season 3 spoilers: Danielle Campbell discuss Davina's arc as Regent, relationship with Marcel and plan against Klaus
“The Originals” cast member Danielle Campbell spoke about what’s in store for her witch character Davina Claire in the upcoming new season. Campbell teased that Davina’s story arc in “The Originals” Season 3 will include her relationship with Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis and the plans she has against Klaus Mikaelson, played by Joseph Morgan. She also talked about her new role as Regent, which is the supreme witch of New Orleans and leader of the Nine Covens. “The Originals” Season 3 will premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at 9/8c on the CW Network.

“The Originals” cast member Danielle Campbell teased in an interview with BuddyTV at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con that the fans will see a strong Davina Claire in the upcoming third season of the CW TV series. Campbell, 20, added that being the new Regent of the witches in New Orleans will make Davina decide on what’s best for her people even though she is uncomfortable with her decisions.
Aside from choosing what’s best for the witches, Davina will also struggle in making the coven of witches understand and respect her as the new Supreme Witch. When asked if her character is threatened with the arrival of new evil characters, Campbell responded that Davina is not afraid and the teenage witch will try to stay away from the vampires in “The Originals” Season 3.
The relationship between Davina and vampire Marcel Gerard, her surrogate father, will continue to play out in the upcoming new season. Campbell explained that Davina and Marcel will always have this special bond making them always stick together and look after each other through thick and thin.
Meanwhile, Campbell revealed that Davina will always be one of Klaus Mikaelson’s detractors. “She’s always active plotting to take down Klaus,” Campbell teased in the BuddyTV interview.
According to Campbell, Davina is now angrier with the Original vampire-hybrid after her only chance to bring back Kol Mikaelson, played by Daniel Sharman in “The Originals” Season 2, was taken away from her. Davina resurrected Esther Mikaelson, played by Alice Evans, instead of Kol after Rebekah Mikaelson, played by Claire Holt, and Elijah Mikaelson, played by Daniel Gillies, tricked her and swapped the ashes to be used in the spell in the finale episode of the second season.
Aussie actor Nathaniel Buzolic said in a TVLine interview that the fans can see more of him as Kol Mikaelson in “The Originals” Season 3 because there will be a lot of flashback scenes featuring the Original vampire. However, there is still a chance for the original Kol Mikaelson, played by Nathaniel Buzolic, to return in “The Originals” Season 3 because Davina and Rebekah as a witch, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers, promised that they would find a way to bring him back.
