Aside from "The Originals" getting renewed for season 3, the other shows picked up for another season in the CW Network are "The Vampire Diaries," "Arrow," "Reign," "Supernatural," "Jane The Virgin," "The Flash" and "The 100." CW President Mark Pedowitz declared in a statement that the renewed TV series have helped in defining what the network is today.

"A network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience," Pedowitz stated. "Rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups," the CW President further added.

"The Originals" executive producer Michael Narducci shared to The Hollywood Reporter that the drama will still focus on the members of the Original family. "We saw in the midseason finale how the vampire family neutralized Esther. And now Michael and Finn are together," Narducci explained.

With Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) telling Cami (Leah Pipes) his revenge plans, the executive producer further teased that it will be interesting to see Finn's strategy and agenda in the second half of "The Originals" Season 2 with Mikael (Sebastian Roché) helping him accomplish his plans. Michael Narducci added that the storyline on Esther's sister Dahlia, Klaus' long-lost sister Freya and the curse on the first-born children in the Mikaelson bloodline will be touched on in the upcoming episodes of the show.

The executive producer teased that the big questions now are will Dahlia find out about baby Hope and what Original hybrid Klaus will do to protect his daughter. "The Originals" Season 2 returns with episode 10 titled "Gonna Set Your Flag on Fire" on Monday night, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
