Original hybrid Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) is certain that the person he talked to was his mother, Esther (Alice Evans), during his meeting with teenage witch Cassie (Natalie Dreyfuss) in "The Originals" Season 2, episode 2 titled "Alive and Kicking." A released promo video teases that the mother-and-son conversation will continue in the next episode of the CW TV series titled "Every Mother's Son."

According to the upcoming episode's synopsis in a Carter Matt report, Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will receive a dinner invitation from Esther, who is currently taking over Cassie's body. Additionally, the Original witch will finally reveal her ultimate plan for her children in "The Originals" Season 2, episode 3 titled "Every Mother's Son."

The promo video begins with Klaus telling Elijah about the dinner invitation that he received from their mother. "Dinner. Your home. 8 p.m.," Esther's note reads. Elijah tells his brother that they must decipher their mother's intentions but Klaus is certain once again that Esther's intentions are decidedly foul.

Other scenes in the brief promo video show Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) declaring that every story has a wicked witch and Esther/Cassie making preparations for her Mikaelson family dinner. The report further teased that "The Originals" fans will see actress Alice Evans guest star in the new episode portraying the role of Esther Mikaelson that she made famous after the character got introduced in "The Vampire Diaries." Meanwhile, the other details in the episode synopsis revealed that Esther will divulge a shocking secret from Klaus' childhood, Hayley will also have a startling encounter with Esther, a new witch named Lenore (Sonja Sohn) will help Klaus, Elijah and Hayley stay one step ahead of Esther but things will not go according to plan and Elijah will be reluctantly teaming up with newbie vampire Gia (Nishi Munshi).

"The Originals" Season 2, episode 3 titled "Every Mother's Son" will air on Monday night, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
