"The Originals" Season 2 mid-season finale episode titled "The Map of Moments" left the viewers with a cliffhanger ending on the characters of the CW spinoff series. For the fans wondering if the TV series will immediately pick up where they left off when it returns in 2015, executive producer Michael Narducci gave his response in an interview.

"It's a tiny little time jump. It's not so significant that we're going to miss out on the things we really want to see which is: What does our family believe happened to Rebekah?" Narducci teased in an Entertainment Weekly interview. The executive producer further teased that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be expecting to find Rebekah (Claire Holt) in the body of one of Marcel's (Charles Michael Davis) vampires but Kol (Daniel Sharman) had a different plan in mind.

"So there's the mystery of how that plays out," Narducci added. The other mysteries in the second half of "The Originals" Season 2 will revolve on the other Mikaelson family members such as Esther (Sonja Sohn), Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) and Mikael (Sebastian Roché).

According to the executive producer, the first episode back of "The Originals" Season 2 will have Mikael and Finn's new alliance as well as Esther's fate of whether she drank the blood bag that Klaus left behind for her during her transition or the Original witch chose to die. When asked about the Mikael-Finn alliance, Michael Narducci teased that the upcoming episodes will explore on the relationship between the father and son.

The executive producer claimed that the scenes between Mikael and Finn will be interesting to watch because Mikael is a vampire and Finn, who obviously hates vampires like Esther, will have to decide if he can work with his father whose sole intention is to kill Klaus. Another interesting storyline in the second half is baby Hope's fate in New Orleans.

Michael Narducci admitted that it is not really safe for Hope to be back home yet. "So you have to imagine that Hayley is probably going to stay put until they know what's going on with Rebekah," the executive producer shared.

"The Originals" Season 2 is scheduled to return on Jan. 19, 2015 with episode 10 titled "Gonna Set Your Flag on Fire."
