Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black” is set to air this week. In the new season, Litchfield penitentiary will be full with new inmates. There will expectedly be new allies and enemies, as power shifts from one group to another.

Before the fourth season officially starts, here is a recap of some big happenings in Season 3.

Mirror writes that more about Alex (Laura Prepon), Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Stella’s (Ruby Rose) love triangle will be featured in Season 4. After Piper was left by Alex, she ended up with Stella. However, their romance quickly ended when Alex discovered that Stella destroyed her business and stole her cash. In return, she planted contraband in Stella’s bunk. In the meantime, Alex believes that someone inside the prison was on a mission to kill her. At the end of Season 3, she was cornered by one of the drug cartel members.

Bustle points out that in Season 3, Bennett (Matt McGorry) initially wanted to marry Daya (Dascha Polanco) and start a family with her. However, he ran away in the end, showing that he was not such a great guy after all.

In Season 3, Daya decided to keep her baby, despite Bennett abandoning them.

Previously, Coates (James McMenamin) raped Doggett (Helen Abell). Boo (Lea DeLaria) exacted revenge in Doggett’s behalf by drugging the officer and raping him back. Doggett faked a seizure so that she would never be alone with Coates again. However, Maritza (Diane Guerrero) was placed in her stead, putting her at risk for being the officer’s next victim.

In the Season 3 finale, the inmates broke out of Litchfield prison via an opening in the fence and headed towards a lake nearby. Maureen (Emily Althaus) swam in the water with Crazy (UzoAduba), hinting that more about their relationship will be revealed in the next season.

The prison CEO’s also walked out because of their discontentment with Litchfield’s new management, leaving Caputo (Nick Sandow) alone to handle everything.

“Orange is the New Black” Season 4 is set to air on June 17, 2016 on Netflix. More updates and details are expected soon.
