Optus Business announced on Monday about the five-year $75 million deal with Flight Centre Travel Group Limited (Flight Centre). The deal would support in delivering mobility, global security and expansion of data connectivity. It would also support collaboration services across Australia including 1,150 stores and 9,000 staff and unified communications.

“Optus Business is committed to our strategic partnership with Flight Centre and we are excited about supporting Flight Centre during this period of transformational change,” Optus Business managing director John Paitaridis said. He said that the ongoing relationship between the two companies addressed the challenges of disruption. It also highlighted the importance of partnership and collaboration that would meet customer expectations.

Within the next 12 months, the collaboration would focus on Flight Centre's boosting of customer experience and staff management improvement. To make it possible, Optus would migrate Flight Centre to a virtualised contact centre solution called Optus CCaaS platform. The contract would support Flight Centre in its next phase of transformation strategy to 2021.

Flight Centre chief operating officer Melanie Waters-Ryan said that the company continued to raise the bar and value their customers. She said that the key to successful transformation was its shared commitment with Optus in delivering experiences for their customers. She added that they were delighted to invest in critical technology platforms to provide great service to their customers.
