Optus Business has extended its partnership with Cisco in Australia. Now it has become the first Australian vendor to offer Cisco’s pioneering Data Virtualisation technology. This collaboration will allow customers to easily adapt to fast-changing business conditions.

The company said in statement that Cisco’s Data Virtualisation tools together with Optus’ Cloud capabilities help business customers to reap benefit from responsive data integration software that makes it easy to query all types of data. Customers will be able to assemble both structured and unstructured data, without physically moving any data across the network. The integration will lead to a better understanding of customer experience.

Optus Business’ existing Intelligence and Data Analytics tools coupled with Cisco Data Virtualisation technology will empower users with instant access to data they want, when they want it. Currently, Optus Business has eight certified Cisco Data Virtualisation engineers while many others are set to commence the technical training.

“We are excited by the compelling benefits this technology can offer our customers in Australia, which have been well demonstrated in the US market, particularly in the financial services industry. Data virtualisation’s streamlined approach reduces complexity and saves money, due to the reduction of data replication and consolidation,” said Jennie McLaughlin, Head of Business Applications and Solutions at Optus Business.

Jason Brouwers, Director, Partner Business Group, Cisco, further enumerated that it requires a capable technology- savvy business like Optus to help customers entirely realise Cisco’s Data Virtualisation technology. He added that Cisco is proud of the long-standing relationship with Optus and wish to support Optus’ growth as an end-to-end ICT provider.

This long-standing association between the two organisations elevates Optus Business’ capabilities as an end-to-end, integrated ICT provider. Optus Business was recognised by Cisco’s ANZ Partner of the Year in April 2015. Furthermore, Optus Business was adopted into Cisco’s InterCloud Program earlier this year, reports ARN .
