OnePlus has teased its fans stating that it is coming up with a big announcement, and that the announcement is related to the very popular Dash Charge technology. It can be a power bank or a device that will enable fast charging. But the entire thing can be an April Fool’s Day prank.

The immensely popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer tweeted its fans with a question, “What should we Dash Charge next?” The tweet had images of a toothbrush, shoe, bottle, and a cleaning brush. The company also did a follow-up tweet confirming that the future of Dash Charge will be unveiled on Saturday. Many believe that the company is really coming up with an announcement, while there are many who are expecting this to be a prank.

According to Gadgets 360, in 2015, OnePlus pranked its fans with the Game Changer drone prank. While OnePlus has an amazing sense of humour, the Dash Charge tweet was re-tweeted by co-founder Carl Pei. Thus, this seems legitimate, unless even the bosses are part of the April Fool prank. Even if the company actually announces something, it will definitely not be the OnePlus 5 handset that everyone believes to be the flagship killer. The flagship will get a grand unveil, typical of OnePlus.

2016’s announcement was carried out and watched globally via a VR headset, and OnePlus 5 will also receive such a grand unveil. If the upcoming announcement is really that of Dash Charge, then also fans will be happy to finally get their hands on a device that can charge their handsets in just 30 minutes. However, OnePlus is known to always find opportunities for expanding its portfolio. Thus, this time the company could be coming up with something unique and totally different from what everyone’s thinking, like a Dash Charge energy drink perhaps?

Meanwhile, speculations are running rampant with respect to OnePlus 5. It is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a plethora of top specs. A leak has revealed a 6/8GB RAM, dual camera setup with AR and MR capabilities, 128GB internal storage capacity, 4,000 mAh battery and a 5.3-inch 2K AMOLED display. The flagship is expected to come with a glass body. OnePlus 5 could drop the 1080p screen resolution and settle for a Quad HD (1,440 x 2,560 pixels) resolution. This will make the OnePlus handset in line with Google, Samsung and LG.
