After OnePlus 3’s critical success, the Chinese mobile maker is reportedly working on its next smartphone, the OnePlus 4. If rumours are to be believed, the OnePlus 4 will pose a serious challenged to Apple iPhone 7 as the company will be looking to boost its built-in storage and RAM among other feature improvements.

OnePlus has gained a lot of fame due to their powerful and reliable handsets. OnePlus 3 is doing very well in the market and offers a 6GB RAM. Thus, users can expect an 8GB RAM in the next instalment plus a 256GB external storage via microSD card, reports The Bitbag. Apple iPhone 7 currently has a 2GB RAM while the Samsung Note 7 offers a 4GB RAM.

An 8GB RAM in OnePlus 4 will be interesting to say the least. As the OnePlus 3 already has a remarkable build, the mobile maker may choose to retain the design for its OnePlus 4 handset. An Optic AMOLED Display will be included and as OnePlus 3 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor, the OnePlus 4 might include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset.

If that is the case, the OnePlus 4 will have all the powers to challenge Apple iPhone 7 and other premium players in the market. Moreover, as Google has already revealed Android 7.0 Nougat, OnePlus 4 may come with the latest operating system pre-installed. Some consider the Nougat system to be better than Apple’s latest iOS 10.

According to Sportsrageous, the OnePlus 4 may be released in mid-2017 though some reports suggest it could be released couple of months earlier.

In terms of camera specs, the OnePlus 4 may feature 23MP camera, a major upgrade from the current 16MP camera in OnePlus 3. Nothing is known about the price of the device. However, it could cost around US$400 (AU$530), simply based on the logic that OnePlus was launched at US$349 (AU$463), OnePlus 2 at US$389 (AU$516) and OnePlus 3 at US$399 (AU$529).
