The OnePlus 3 release date seems to be drawing near as newly leaked photos of the smartphone have surfaced. Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus has confirmed that it will be launching by the end of second quarter this year.

A fresh batch of leaked photos of the purported OnePlus 3 smartphone have emerged. The new images have been revealed by @krispitech on Twitter. He is the same leakster that had recently revealed leaked renders of OnePlus 3.

The leaked images appear similar to the alleged OnePlus 3 photos that had surfaced earlier this week. The images show a working OnePlus 3 unit with the company’s logo on the screen.

It seems that the OnePlus 3 will be sporting a metallic design and it will appear different from its predecessor models. A rear camera bump can be clearly seen on the back panel. A fingerprint scanner is available below the display of the smartphone.

Rumours have it that the company will be releasing two versions of OnePlus. Both the devices are expected to house 5.5-inch screens that will support full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The high-end OnePlus 3 model is speculated to feature Snapdragon 820 SoC and 6 GB of RAM. This variant is pegged to arrive with 64 GB of native storage. The other variant is rumoured to be powered by the same chipset. However, the chipset will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. This model is expected to feature 32 GB of inbuilt storage.

It will be arriving with Android Marshmallow OS that will be modified with OxygenOS software. OnePlus 3 rumours suggest that it will be available with a starting cost of about $310 (AU$423).

It means that it will be cheaper than OnePlus 2 that was launched with a starting cost of $349 (AU$474). Other rumours indicate that OnePlus 3 will be launched in this month and it will be available for purchase by June.
