OnePlus has started a new campaign called “The Lab” that allows 30 selected individuals to avail the OnePlus 3 for review before its official release date. Speculation indicate that the company will be announcing OnePlus 3 in June through a VR launch event.

OnePlus wants to receive crowd-sourced feedback from 30 people on its next flagship smartphone before releasing it to wider audience. The selected participants are expected to submit comprehensive review of the smartphone.

In order to apply, users are required to visit The Lag page on the website of OnePlus and register it within 5 days. The participants are also required to tell in 500 words as to why the company should choose them to review OnePlus 3 smartphone. Participants from across the world can take part in the OnePlus 3 review campaign.

The Chinese smartphone maker will go through all the entries to select 30 people. It will be sending OnePlus 3 units to chosen applicants between June13 to 20. Hence, speculations are rife that OnePlus will be announcing its next flagship after June 20. The OnePlus 3 release date seems to be close at hand as the smartphone has been already certified by regulatory bodies in the U.S. and China.

The selected participants will have a chance to use OnePlus for couple of days to review it. Even the company has not mentioned it directly, reports suggest that OnePlus will ask the selected participants to return the units after review.

The rumour mill has revealed that the Snapdragon 820 will be powering OnePlus 3 smartphone. Its 32 GB storage model will be arriving with 4 GB of RAM and the 64 GB variant will be packed with 6 GB of RAM. It is expected to house a 5.5-inch full HD screen. Other specs of the smartphone include NFC, USB Type-C, fingerprint reader, 16 MP rear camera, 8 MP front-facing camera and 3000 mAh battery.
