"Directioners" all over the world had their hearts broken following the news on Sugarscape that Niall Horan is in a relationship with Irish model, Zoe Whelan. According to reports, the two met backstage during the One Direction concert at London.
"Niall has been secretly seeing Zoe for a couple of months after he met her backstage. She's a Dubliner but is based in London to work on her modelling career," stated the source to The Sun.
The reports go on to claim that things had become pretty serious between the two. Zoe Whelan had been introduced to Niall's family during his brother's wedding. Despite the distance, both teenagers have been travelling all over UK to make time for the other.
"Zoe's the first girlfriend Niall has brought back to his hometown of Mullingar since making it big, so it was a big deal and the talk of his family at the wedding. Niall's protective of her as she's shy, but his family all really took a shine to Zoe," stated the source.
Twitter was also a form of communication between the two lovebirds. Whelan's recent tweet was that of her wearing Niall's iconic cap.
"Still got your hat @NiallOfficial ner ner you can have it back tonight xx. 'Got my braces back on.. Only for 2 weeks though! We're twinnies now @NiallOfficial! Xx," tweeted Whelan.
Of course, this lead "Directioners" to fully believe the rumours that Whelan and Horan were definitely dating. However, Whelan took to Twitter to deny all claims.
"No, me and Niall are not dating," tweeted Zoe.
Before deleting her Twitter account, Whelan later added, "Now I've settled the rumours you can all go back to your own lives. Please stop tweeting me rude things."
Fans of Niall Horan can certainly breathe a sigh of relief knowing he's back on the market. As for Whelan, the Irish model is still off the social networking sites given the rumours are still rampant.
