ABC's upcoming fantasy drama series "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," which is the spin-off of popular "Once Upon a Time," has signed Keith David, veteran voice actor and singer, as the voice of the Cheshire Cat.

For the new fantasy drama series, Keith David, 57, joins John Lithgow, who is the voice of White Rabbit, and Roger Daltrey, who is reprising his Once Upon a Time's hookah smoking Caterpillar role, according to TVLine.com. Mr David is two time Primetime Emmy Award winner.

"Once Upon A Time In Wonderland" also stars Sophie Lowe as Alice, Michael Socha as Knave of Hearts, Peter Gadiot as Cyrus, Emma Rigby as The Red Queen.

The fantasy series is set in Victorian England and according to ABC's synopsis, "the young and beautiful Alice tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole."

"An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she's seen during this impossible adventure."

The synopsis of "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" describes Alice as a troubled girl and has a painful memory of her first love. "Alice seems ready to put it all behind her, especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever -- the handsome and mysterious Cyrus."

According to the official promo, she travelled from world to world, with the genie. They fought pirates, swam with mermaids, and fell in love. In the promo, she is being questioned by doctors and that her father considers her insane.

The Knave of Hearts and the White Rabbit are expected to save her from a "doomed fate," and together, "the trio will take a tumble down the rabbit hole to this Wonderland where nothing is impossible."
