New characters are being introduced in “Once Upon A time” Season 6. Perhaps the most highly anticipated storyline this time around is that of Aladdin and Jafar. The producers of the show have now teased that the character Jasmine has her own “agenda.”

[Spoiler alert]

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Executive Producer and writer Adam Horowitz teased that Jasmine is a “strong character” who has an “agenda” of her own. The TV series has a way of adding its own twist on classic characters and the same can be expected about the new characters being introduced.

The producer also said that that the way Jasmine will be introduced on the show will also come as a “surprise.” He said that the new storyline involving Aladdin and Jafar will “unfold neatly” along with the main story of Dr. Jekyll (Hank Harris) and Mr. Hyde (Sam Witwer).

While the producers are introducing Aladdin and the others, they will not be introducing a genie in “Once Upon A Time” Season 6. Executive Producer Edward Kitsis teased that there is a possibility that the viewers will get to see a monkey on the show. In the popular 1992 Disney movie “Aladdin” Robin Williams was the voice of Genie and Frank Welker lent his voice for Abu the monkey. The two characters were friends of the protagonist.

In a promo video of the next season released at the San Diego Comic Con, it was teased that Aladdin was also a saviour. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kitsis said that just as the previous season explored the mythology of the Dark One, this year the show will explore the mythology of The Saviour.

“Once Upon A Time” Season 6 will reveal that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) was not the first Saviour and that there were others before her. The addition of Aladdin and Jasmine will raise questions in the mind of Emma, such as the question of whether her life will be just focussed on helping others as a Saviour and whether she will find happiness for herself too.
