New cast members will be joining “Once Upon A Time” Season 6 to play the roles of Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Jafar (Oded Fehr) and Princess Jasmine (Karen David), the producers announced at the San Diego Comic Con. The characters are from the Land of Untold Stories, just like the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner) and Morpheus (Giles Matthey).

[Spoiler alert]

A teaser video of Aladdin and Jafar shows that young hero being referred to as “The Savior.” Incidentally, this is the title of the premiere episode of the next season. So, the fans can expect exiting new stories from the Land of Untold Stories right off the bat.

There may be some flashbacks with Aladdin and Jafar, as the video teases this is not the first interaction between the two characters. The villain has an axe to grind, while hinting at the people being ungrateful towards the young hero.

Aladdin will be seen as a shell of a man he once was in “Once Upon A Time” Season 6. His interaction with Jafar, however, may give him the push he needs to once again become the hero that he should be.

The main plot of the next season will be the split personality of Lana Parrilla’s character. At the comic con, the actress said that just because the Evil Queen is out of Regina it doesn’t mean that the latter has lost her “sass,” Entertainment Weekly reports. The character will continue to be sarcastic and sassy, the actress said, and not be some “pure, light being.”

The Evil Queen, however, will be very different in “Once Upon A Time” Season 6. Without Regina, the villainous character has “no conscience” and is “pure evil.” Parrilla described the character as “a lot of fun.”
