The second-half episodes of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 will bring back some old characters as ABC’s fantasy drama series continue with the storylines that has been established in the winter finale episode titled “Swan Song.” Dorothy Gale is one of the old OUAT characters that will resurface in season 5B because of the storyline on Zelena/Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader) and Oz.

An exclusive TVLine report confirms that Dorothy Gale will make her appearance midway through the second-half episodes of season 5. The OUAT character from the Oz storyline was last seen in season 3, episode 20 titled “Kansas” played by Matreya Scarrwener.
When the viewers see Dorothy Gale again, the “iconic, pig-tailed girl from Kansas” will now be a “brave warrior for good.” The report further teased that Dorothy will return to reclaim Oz from Zelena/Wicked Witch of the West.

In “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 mid-season finale episode, Regina Mills/Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) kicked Zelena out of Storybrooke and sent her half-sister back to Oz. “Once Upon a Time” series creators and executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis teased in a previous report that the viewers will still see Zelena because she will be a huge part of the second arc.

The Regina-Zelena conflict is one of the storylines that the second-half episodes of “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 will explore. Zelena’s clash with Regina will amplify because sending her back to Oz means she will be separated from her daughter with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire).

With Zelena currently out of the picture, Kitsis teased in an interview with ETonline that the OUAT fans will see more of Regina in the second-half episodes. “There's going to be more with her and Robin Hood, and we have not seen the last of Zelena,” Kitsis shared.

Kitsis further added that the storyline involving Regina, Robin Hood, Zelena and the baby will continue to play out in the second-half episodes. “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 will return with episode 12 titled “Souls of the Departed” on March 6, 2016 at 8/7c on ABC.
