Omar Borkan Al Gala now knows the price one has to pay for being “too handsome” - - good or bad. Odd as it may sound, Saudi Arabia didn’t like a self-described poet for fear that women will get too attracted to his good looks. But Omar Borkan Al Gala has gained 250,000 followers on Facebook just two days after the news of his scandal broke out, creating media frenzy in the online world.

Omar’s popularity has spiked up in 48 hours as he continued to gain popularity after he was identified as one of the three men ordered to be deported out of Saudi Arabia - - for fear of what effect they may have on women. Being too gorgeous is not exactly a thing in the Middle East country with their religious norms that women and men are not to be in contact and interaction with each other, especially those who are unrelated.

But there’s no stopping women in the web world. Out of curiousity and sheer adoration, Omar Borkan Al Gala has earned 250,000 Facebook followers, just two days after the controversial order from Saudi’s Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices. And this figure has doubled in another two days. Omar has 441, 335 Likes as of April 29 with 165, 337 users talking about him. He was averaging 5,000 likes per hour from April 29, 3am EST and 7 am EST. The staggering number rose from a mere 85,000 Facebook followers before the news broke out of Omar being booted out of Saudi Arabia for being “too beautiful.”

'A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them,' an Arabic newspaper, Elaph was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Omar was reportedly enjoying himself at a stand at the annual Janadriyah Festival, promoting some of his works at the event when alerted religious officials threw the Dubai native out and deported back to the United Arab Emirates.

Women have incessantly talked about him since then. Some “croons” for being distracted from their works and they even “begged him to stop posting hot, sexy profiles” on Facebook.

“Stop uploading hot and captivating pictures ,let me concentrate on work please,” Deepika Pandey said in her post Saturday.

Lulu Songz Maingey: “Omar plz stop. u ah killing women with ur hot self. *dies*”

The “dreamy” Middle Eastern appears to be in good spirit in his latest post on Facebook as he thanks his followers for their warm messages.

Omar Borkan Al Gala said, “hey beautiful people !! Thank You So Much For Your Amazing Messages. Ladies and gentlemen keep the positive spirit. Love You All~♥”

“Hi, and thank you for all those lovely messages. I'm sorry I haven't had time to get back to all of you :D Xoxo I Love you all !,” Omar said in his message on Friday last week.

The self-described photographer, model, actor and poet has become an internet sensation following the scandal brought by his “unlawful good looks.” Omar is among the three men ordered to be deported by the Saudi Arabian Virtues Commission officials due to their dreamy, good looks. Officials fear that them being beautiful could result in further disregard of the country’s religious norms where women are not allowed to have close interaction with men not related to them. A popular SA female artist had allegedly been the cause of the “odd crime” committed by Omar and two others, who remain at large by the authorities.
