Sex between two people is one activity that newly married couple enjoys. However, one Chinese couple who have been married for five years have not yet experienced the joys of marital bliss.

The reason is that Lin Yue, the husband, and Deng Yang, the wife, could not copulate because of their large bellies. The obese young pair jointly weigh 882 pounds, reports Central European New.

When they heard that China’s heaviest person would undergo gastric bypass surgery, the two decided to follow the example of 538-pound Qian Qian. The couple, who live and work in Sichuan Province, went last week to Chanchun, capital city of Jilin province, to discuss with health experts the fitness plan they must go through prior to the surgery.

Lin and Deng, who want to have kids someday, see the medical procedure as their chance to become parents. Her uber plus size not only presented a problem of having sex but even getting married because Deng could not find a wedding gown that would fit her, so she had to have one specially made, reports Mirror.

Surgeons usually perform the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery on obese people. The procedure accounts for 80 percent of all weight loss surgeries in the US. It involved dividing the stomach into a large and smaller portions. The smaller part is stapled or sewn to make a pouch that could hold only about a cup of food, according to WebMD. The patient would feel full quickly and eat less.

The new and smaller stomach pouch is disconnected from the majority of the stomach. The first part of the small intestine, the duodenum, is connected to the jejunum, or the part of the small intestine slightly farther down. With the surgery, the food passes directly from the stomach into the jejunum, in the process bypassing the duodenum, cutting the body’s absorption of calories and nutrients.

Patients usually need to stay two to three days in the hospital after the surgery and could return to normal activities within two to three weeks.
