Gamers may rejoice as Asus has come out with gaming laptops featuring the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. These new Strix laptops will be cheaper than the ones with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070.

Asus is a popular name in the gaming community. It quickly adopted the new Nvidia GPUs for its laptops to provide the best performance to hardcore gamers. As per iTech Post, Asus now has two gaming laptops with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, ROG Strix GL702VM-DB71 and LG702VM-DB74. The laptops are reportedly identical with the ROG Strix GL502VS.

The GL702 VM series has storage slots for SSD and HDD, up to 32GB memory support and Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, writes tom’sHARDWARE. The two laptops feature wider 17.3-inch FHD G-Sync display. The GL502 laptops had 15.6-inch panels. The new laptops are large in size and perfect for Asus’ triple-fan cooling solution.

The ROG Strix GL702VM-DB71 and LG702VM-DB74 have tactile keyboards that are neon-accented. They also have 30KRO, anti-ghosting and illuminated WASD keys. The Asus ROG Gaming Center software comes pre-installed. The gaming laptops are now available at the Asus store for US$1,399 (AU$1,846) and US$1,599 (AU$2,109).

The GL702VM-DB74 may also have a 256 SSD and this will make it apt for handling modern games. IN terms of graphics performance, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 is better than NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. However, it is enough for gamers who want cool specs at a lesser price. The GTX 1060 has a 6GB DDR5 VRAM that can handle almost every game.

The average gamer will find the ROG Strix GL702VM-DB71 and LG702VM-DB74 for their everyday gaming needs and the two are identical in terms of specs. The only difference lies in the latter supporting additional SSD. The two run on Windows 10 64-bit operating system and have USB Type-C and HDMI support.
