In an interview with Gerble, Djokovic revealed how purging gluten from his diet has helped him perform better. He said that he had health problems that had prevented him from acting at the highest level. In addition, he said he had issues with his overall wellbeing. According to Djokovic, he battled asthma, fatigue, and heavy legs when gluten was still a part of his diet. Gluten is a protein found in cereal grains like wheat, rye, and barley, and it can cause serious harm to some people.

"After only a week of gluten-free diet, I felt lighter, more dynamic," Djokovic told Gerble. "A year and a half after the adoption of my new diet, I became a new man on and off the court, with a new found energy and health," Djokovic added.

Djokovic said it was easy for him to partner with Gerble because they both share the same values. In addition, he loves Gerble's products and eats them whenever he feels like snacking.

In 2010, Djokovic's nutritionist Igor Cetojevic discovered that he has gluten sensitivity, or what is otherwise known as celiac disease. Apparently, gluten has an adverse effect on Djokovic's body so Cetojevic began eliminating gluten from the Serbian's diet. Since then, Djokovic reportedly began feeling stronger and has gotten fitter. Djokovic and Cetojevic parted ways in 2011.

In Djokovic's book "Serve to Win," he revealed his gluten-free diet and workout plan that has not only transformed his health but also amped his game to the highest level. that he had to listen to his body so he overhauled his diet and eventually became one of tennis' greatest players. "Once I did, everything changed, you could call it magic, it felt like magic."
